Honey Garlic Chicken
A quick and delicious honey garlic chicken recipe that's sweet, savory, and perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
- 4 Piece boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 0.5 cup honey
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 3 clove garlic minced
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 1 tbs apple cider vinegar
- 0.5 tbs black pepper
- 0.5 tbs red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (for mixing with cornstarch)
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts in a large ziplock bag or shallow dish. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, reserving the rest. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1–2 hours.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil if needed.
- Remove chicken from marinade and cook each side for about 5–7 minutes, or until fully cooked.
- In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade. Bring to a simmer.
- If you'd like a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the simmering sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes until it thickens.
- Drizzle the sauce over the chicken.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
Notes
Notes:
- You can substitute chicken thighs for juicier meat.
- For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes.
