- 4 Piece boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 0.5 cup honey
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 3 clove garlic minced
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 1 tbs apple cider vinegar
- 0.5 tbs black pepper
- 0.5 tbs red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (for mixing with cornstarch)
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
In a small bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper.
Place the chicken breasts in a large ziplock bag or shallow dish. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, reserving the rest. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1–2 hours.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil if needed.
Remove chicken from marinade and cook each side for about 5–7 minutes, or until fully cooked.
In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade. Bring to a simmer.
If you'd like a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the simmering sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes until it thickens.
Drizzle the sauce over the chicken.
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
Notes:
-
You can substitute chicken thighs for juicier meat.
-
For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes.
